who are you? who is in your family and where are you originally from? I'm Aleksei Lisitsyn, a seventeen-year-old (eighteen on January 21st) senior at Hillside Academy. I am the oldest child and only son of Nikolai Lisitsyn and Nataliya Lisitsyna. I only have one sibling -- a particularly obnoxious sister by the name of Anastasiya, who is a little over a year younger than me. My parents purposely named us after the youngest Romanov children, who were brutally murdered in the early twentieth century. I'm not particularly fond of that fact. My family and I are originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, but we moved to the United States (specifically Maine) when I was eight because of my father's business. My sister and I didn't have much trouble learning English because my mother was fluent in the language and had exposed us to it when we were younger.
what are your plans post-graduation? Honestly? I would kill to be playing hockey professionally, but that's pretty doubtful. Most likely, I'll head to whatever university that accepts me. I will still, hopefully, be playing hockey in college, but I'm not too certain on a major. My father probably expects me to major in business so I can be exactly like him, but I really don't care for anything to do with business. Maybe I can become a physical therapist, considering I really like anatomy... or I can take the easy way out and become a Russian teacher.
how would you describe yourself? I'm pretty extroverted for the most part, and I love to have fun and goof around. I am extremely focused when it comes to hockey, and I always work hard in everything that I do... even school, actually. I may not always do well, though. I can be really headstrong, but I'm definitely open-minded and willing to listen. I care a lot about my family, friends, and teammates. My teammates can vouch for me fighting other players for something done to them. I really love listening to all kinds of music, especially right before a game. I also like traveling, hockey (if you haven't noticed), just hanging out with friends, homemade cooking, and the Washington Capitals (especially Ovechkin). I absolutely hate the Pittsburgh Penguins (mainly Sidney Crosby), ignorant assholes, and my sister's habit of screaming in my ear to wake me up.
do you do any sports or clubs/activities? if so, what? My whole life revolves around ice hockey, and I'm the captain of the team. I've been playing hockey since I could walk; it's like a requirement being Russian. Other than that, I'm not involved in much.
what is your favorite class? least favorite class? My favorite class is Anatomy. It's a straight forward subject, and I've always found sciences to be pretty easy for me. My least favorite class is definitely European Lit. I can't interpret literature to save my life. I never pick up on symbolism, and seriously? Lit teachers probably make that shit up.
what is the best part about being young? the worst? The best part about being young? I don't know... being in really great shape for sports and having a lot of energy. I really hate being confused, though, and not really being able to figure myself out completely. This whole "finding my true self" journey is a serious pain in my ass, and I would love for it to be over... right now.
are you currently involved with someone? if so, describe the relationship. if not, why not? Yes, I am currently involved with someone. I have a drop-dead gorgeous girlfriend. We've been dating for about four months now, but we've been best friends since we were about twelve. She's probably the only person that I know that knows absolutely everything about me, so we obviously don't keep secrets from each other.
